Photo Diary: Hiking Trolltunga!

Trolltunga, which in English means The Troll's tongue, is one of Norway's most iconic and spectacular scenic cliffs. The famous rock formation juts out 700 meters above Ringedalsvatnet lake, located east of the village of Tyssedal. The view from Trolltunga is nothing short of breathtaking and will no doubt be one of the most memorable and amazing things you ever see - it is the definition of a 'once-in-a-lifetime' experience.

Of course Mother Nature doesn't let you enjoy the view without working for it first. The hike to Trolltunga is 22 kilometers roundtrip, ascends nearly 900 meters, and takes 8-10 hours to complete (sometimes longer when snow covers the trail). For safety reasons, the hike is only permitted from mid-June to mid-September.

Sounds crazy, right? Trust me, it's worth it! Not convinced? See for yourself...

And here's where it all begins...
